Blue Mountain Youth Softball Association 20223 Spring Season
2023 Blue Mountain Youth Softball Association announces its Spring 2023 registration. This program is open to all girls ages 5-14 of the Blue Mountain School District and surrounding communities. As in previous years, we will continue to play in the Schuylkill County Girls Softball League and be affiliated with USA Softball of PA. All experience levels accepted.
Registration Costs
8U: $29
10U/12U/14U: $54
PLUS MANDATORY Fundraiser: $72 for Gertrude Hawk Candy Bars or $36 buyout
The minimum age for eligibility shall be 5 years of age (as of December 31st 2022)
Spring Softball Season Overview:
- This year's MANDATORY fundraiser will be selling 1 box of 48 Gertrude Hawk Candy Bars at $1.50 each. A buyout option of $36 will be offered. If choosing to participate in the fundraiser, you will additionally be provided the option to prepay your chocolate upon registering ($72). Chocolate disbursement/pickup will be arranged sometime in March. More details to follow.
- Season duration ( generally): 8U: April through June 10U/12U: March through mid July. 14U: May through July
- March: Indoor Practices, 1x/week Saturday afternoons (12 pm to 6 pm at Memorial) for 10U & 12U
- April: Outdoor Practices start 1-2x/week for all ages. 8U (Wed/Sun), 10U-12U (Coaches Discretion & field availability depending)
- May: 8u/10u/12u Games Start
- 8U: Games are typically Sunday's/Wednesday's (tentatively & can be other days coaches discretion)
- June: 8U season concludes Mid-June (tentatively)
- July: 10U, 12U & 14U season concludes, Playoffs mid July (determined by league)
- MANDATORY Volunteer of 2 games (minimum and depending on total amount of games along with number of players per team) working in concession stand for team home games per player (This is Required and part of registration, concession profit helps offset costs to keep registration cost affordable)
- MANDATORY Volunteer help during Field & Concession Stand Clean Up days (Dates TBD, Potentially end of March/April)
- Included with cost of registration: USA Softball Insurance, Jersey, Socks & Belt. (Softball pants NOT included, must be purchased by player). Players are not required to purchase equipment (softballs, bats, batting helmets, catchers gear, etc) as the association has equipment for players/teams but it is HIGHLY recommended to purchase your own equipment. We also HIGHLY recommended fielding masks but are not currently required.
- Opening Day Fun Day, Tentatively end of April (all ages), more information to follow
- No donations of any kind required
- All monetary donations, supplies (equipment, drinks, food) and Team sponsorship are welcomed (If looking to donate please contact us)
Ability to register/roster teams will be dependent upon registration numbers. If BMYSA is not able to successfully roster a complete team for an age level, registration fees will be fully refunded less processing fees charged by Sport Connect. Other refund request will only be considered by the board of directors if received by start of season (TBD) .
